Starling Packs… Just for Libraries

by Marissa Mirbach

The newest offering from the Starling Team is…. Drumroll please… Starling Library Packs! We’re so excited to tell you all about them.

We’ve interviewed dozens of our library partners across the country, picking their brains to figure out how to make the Starling even easier  to use. Easier to use and more beneficial for their patrons

From our conversations with some incredible librarians,They told us that they like to circulate the Starling in packs, with other books and tools to help parents learn more about the value of early engagement.—an early literacy super pack, if you will. With our Starling for Library Packs, we’re enabling new partners to do just that, without the hassle! Your library packs will arrive ready to go — all you have to do is slap on a barcode and let parents start taking them home.

What’s included in a library pack:

The Starling wearable word counter — the ultimate parenting companion! The Starling helps parents set and meet goals for verbal engagement, by delivering daily tips and encouragement. Would link out to product page

Brain Rules for Baby — New York Times bestselling author Dr. John Medina “bridges the gap between what scientists know and what parents practice.” This book will answer your patrons’ questions about how baby brains develop, and what they should be doing now to raise a smart, happy child.

Blueberries for Sal — This classic children’s story features beautiful illustrations, beloved by parents and their little ones. Reading Blueberries for Sal is a great starting point for parents who want to get to work on increasing their word count!

Laminated Instructions and Tips — In this pack, we’ve included an overview about the power of early engagement, and animated instructions to help parents hit the ground running with their Starlings.

Stacking cups — The simplest toys are often the best for playing and engaging with babies! We’ve included these multi-colored stacking cups, as well as a set of easy tips and conversation starters to help guide parents.

Sanitizing wipes — the Starling is drool-proof, baby food-proof, snot-proof… but that doesn’t mean it can’t use a little TLC! We’ve included wipes to help librarians and parents keep their Starlings in tip-top shape.

Though we at VersaMe love these packs, it’s been incredible to see the response from our library partners and the incredible parents they are serving. Libraries and parents alike are loving these packs. Our friends out of Vernon Area Public Library reported back to us that they, “haven’t seen a Starling since we’ve started loaning them out. As soon as one is returned it gets check out by someone else! Parents are loving it.”

If you’re interested in bringing Starlings Library Packs to your local library, give us a call! You can reach us directly at 650-239-6791. We can’t wait to speak with you.
